Privacy Policy

Canoro ("we", "us") is an app that helps you learn languages through songs. We built Canoro to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what is and isn't collected.

No account, minimal data

You do not create an account to use Canoro. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, photos, or precise location.

What we process

• Subscription status. When you subscribe or start a free trial, Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) process your purchase so we can unlock premium features. This is tied to a random app-generated identifier and your Apple ID's purchase record — not to your personal identity.
• An anonymous device identifier. A random ID generated on your device lets us keep your entitlements consistent and understand basic, aggregate usage. It is not linked to who you are and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
• Song creation requests. When you create a song, the topic, style, and generated lyrics are sent to our servers and to our AI music providers to produce the audio. These requests are used to generate your song and are not used to identify you.
• Pronunciation audio (only if you use "Speak it"). If you record yourself to practice pronunciation, that short audio clip is sent to our speech provider to score how close you were, and is not stored afterward.

Stored on your device

Your learning progress, the songs you create, your playlists, streak, and settings are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes this data.

Service providers

We share the limited data above only as needed with providers who help run Canoro: Apple (payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), and our AI providers fal.ai, MiniMax (music generation) and ElevenLabs (pronunciation). We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Children

Canoro is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

Because we don't hold an account for you, the fastest way to remove your data is to delete the app. You may also contact us at thecanvasandcompass@gmail.com with any privacy question or request.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
